Why book a 360 video booth for a birthday party?

A staffed V360 Video Booth gives every age at a birthday party something to do. Guests step up with birthday props, the camera circles them and everyone leaves with their own clip.

A 360 video booth works at a birthday party because everyone can join in, whatever their age. A V360 Video Booth is staffed, so the person celebrating and the host do not run it. Guests step onto the platform with birthday props, the camera circles them and they leave with a 26-second clip they can share before the party is over.

Why it works at a birthday

Birthday parties mix friends, family and children in one room. Not everyone wants to dance and not everyone knows each other. The booth gives people a simple thing to do together. They pick up a prop, step up with a friend or a cousin and the operator does the rest.

The person celebrating gets something too. Every guest's clip goes into one gallery, so the morning after you can watch the whole party back, including the moments you missed while you were cutting the cake.

All ages

There is no age limit. Children can use the booth and families can step up together. A tall adult may need to hold a small child so both stay in frame, because the camera frames the top half of the body. The operator positions every group and positions the camera for every person, so mixed groups work. More is in can children use a 360 video booth.

How the party runs

About a fortnight before the party the team contacts your venue to agree the space. On the day the operator or operators arrive one hour before your start time and set up discreetly, so the booth is ready when guests are.

When the booth opens, the operator guides each group onto the platform, explains how it works and positions them. Guests are encouraged to dance, look for the camera and pose while the camera rotates around them. The platform does not spin and guests do not turn with the camera. When the rotation stops, they are helped down and shown their video at the sharing station. What guests do on the platform is in how a 360 video booth works for guests and the full evening is in what happens on the night with a staffed 360 video booth.

Small booth or large booth

  • Small booth. A 1.5 m by 1.5 m platform for up to 2 people at a time, run by one operator.
  • Large booth. A 2.5 m by 2.5 m platform for up to 4 people at a time, run by two operators because there are more people to manage.

Both need about half a metre around the booth so the camera arm can rotate safely, a solid even floor and a power plug or other power source. Wifi is not required. The full comparison is in small or large 360 video booth and the footprint detail is in how much space a 360 video booth needs.

For a party where friends like to pile on together, the large booth takes up to 4 at a time. For a smaller room or a party where most people step up in pairs, the small booth fits well.

Birthday props

Every booking comes with a standard set of high-quality props plus birthday props, including themed headbands, glasses and celebratory props. The operator sets them out on V360's own prop table, so you do not need to bring anything.

If the party has a theme of its own, custom props are £75 for 10 pieces on top of the standard props with the Bespoke Themed Prop Package. Book them at least 4 months ahead.

Song and overlay

One song plays on every video from the booking. On Paper and Bronze packages V360 chooses an appropriate on-theme popular song. On Silver and Gold packages you choose the song and the 26-second section of it you want. Song choice and a text or logo overlay are included with Silver and Gold. On Paper and Bronze packages both are available as paid add-ons for £20 each: the Custom Music Overlay and the Custom Text or Logo Overlay. One song still plays across all the videos. For text, send the exact wording and spelling. For a logo, send a transparent PNG.

Silver and Gold include putting the birthday person's favourite song on every clip and adding a text overlay such as their name and the age they are celebrating. On Paper and Bronze you can add either for £20. Send the wording exactly as you want it. More is in personalising your 360 booth videos.

Your videos after the party

Guests download their own clip at the video sharing station on the night by AirDrop, a QR code, SMS or email. Their phone is not used to record. About 12 hours after the booking ends you are emailed a web gallery of every video plus a shared Google Drive folder for a bulk download. Both stay available for six months and no USB is needed. Delivery is covered in how do we get our 360 booth videos.

Prices and travel

Small Paper is £175 for one hour and Large Paper is £225 for one hour, up to Gold at £425 small and £495 large for four hours. Bookings beyond four hours are priced as a custom quote. The full list is in how much a 360 video booth costs to hire and on the packages page. Travel is free across South Wales, West Wales, Bristol and Thornbury. It is not free to Weston-super-Mare, Nailsea, Keynsham, Yate or Long Ashton. Towns are listed on areas we cover.
