Every V360 Video Booth clip is 26 seconds long. It plays at normal speed, then in slow motion and then in reverse, in a boomerang style. The camera frames the top half of the body rather than full length, so the video is about faces, expressions and personality up close. Those two choices shape how every video from your booking looks.
The 26-second clip in three parts
The clip is built in three parts so one take gives guests more than one look at the same moment.
- Normal speed. The video opens as it happened. The camera rotates and circles the group and you see the movement, the laughter and the dancing at real pace.
- Slow motion. The same moment is slowed down. This is where a hair flick, a spin of a prop or a big smile gets its time on screen.
- Reverse. The clip then plays backwards, which gives it the boomerang finish people recognise and like to share.
Every clip from the booking follows the same 26-second pattern, so the full set looks consistent when you watch it back in the gallery.
Why the camera frames the top half
The camera frames the top half of the body. It is not a full-length shot from head to toe and that is a deliberate choice.
- Personality up close. A tighter frame puts faces and reactions at the centre of the video. Expressions, laughter and gestures read clearly instead of being small in a wide shot.
- Comfort. Some guests are not comfortable with a full-body shot. Framing the top half means more people are happy to step up and enjoy it.
- Feedback. Years of feedback say the top half works best for this kind of video.
If you are wondering whether your outfit or shoes will be in shot, plan for the top half. Hats, accessories, hand-held props and anything from the waist up are what the camera sees best.
How the operator gets everyone in shot
Framing is not left to chance. The operator positions guests on the platform and positions the camera for every person, so a group of different heights still sits well in the frame. They make sure everyone is well framed and well lit using the ring lights and the room lighting. If a tall adult is with a small child, the adult may need to hold the child so both stay in frame. That is covered in can children use a 360 video booth.
Making the most of 26 seconds
Twenty-six seconds goes quickly so it pays to commit from the first second. The operator will explain how to get the best videos before the take, but these points help:
- Start moving when the operator says go. The normal-speed section is the base for the slow motion and the reverse.
- Look for the camera as it circles you. Eye contact on the way round lifts the slow-motion section.
- Use your arms and your face. With the top half in frame, gestures and expressions do the work.
- Pick up a prop from the prop table. Props are included, with themed props for the occasion set out by the operator.
- Stay on the platform and let the camera come to you. You do not need to turn with it.
What sits on top of the clip
One song is overlaid on every video from the booking. Different music on different videos is not offered. On Paper and Bronze packages V360 chooses an appropriate on-theme popular song for all the videos. On Silver and Gold packages you choose the song and the 26-second section of it you want, plus a text or logo overlay that appears on every video, such as names and a date at a wedding or a company logo at a corporate event. On Paper and Bronze packages song choice and a text or logo overlay are available as add-ons for £20 each: the Custom Music Overlay and the Custom Text or Logo Overlay. The detail is in personalising your 360 booth videos.
Watching it back
As soon as the take ends the operator helps the group down and shows the video at the video sharing station. Guests can download it by AirDrop, a QR code, SMS or email. About 12 hours after the booking ends the client is emailed a web gallery of every video plus a Google Drive folder for a bulk download. More on that in how do we get our 360 booth videos.
