New Year’s Day weddings have a magic of their own, and Danielle and Joel’s celebration at New House Country Hotel in Thornhill, Cardiff was no exception. We were delighted to be part of their day, providing our Large 360 Video Booth as the main evening entertainment and capturing some truly unforgettable moments as they began their married life surrounded by friends and family.
Arriving at New House Country Hotel, Cardiff
We arrived at New House Country Hotel at 6:00pm, just as the winter light was fading over Cardiff. Set high above the city, the venue is renowned for its views, elegance, and relaxed yet refined atmosphere. On this evening, the hotel felt especially special, hosting a New Year’s Day wedding that perfectly balanced celebration with sophistication.
Danielle and Joel were married in the venue’s stunning glass-fronted marquee, a space that allows natural light by day and transforms beautifully at night. With carefully placed spotlights, refined décor, and full-height windows, the marquee sparkled against the dark January sky, creating an ideal setting for a wedding celebration and a perfect backdrop for cinematic 360-degree videos.
Behind the Scenes: Setting Up Under Time Pressure
As with many weddings, the day ran slightly over schedule, and when the time came for us to set up, we were left with just 15 minutes to prepare the booth before the evening entertainment was due to begin. Our team worked calmly and efficiently, positioning equipment close to the marquee while speeches were still taking place so that we could move quickly once the space became available.
As soon as guests exited for the room turnaround, we entered the marquee and completed a full professional setup, ensuring everything was secure, accessible and ready to go. Although the booth was ready at 7:00pm, guests didn’t return until 7:30pm. As this reduced the couple’s booked time through no fault of their own, our team were more than happy to stay an extra 30 minutes, ensuring Danielle and Joel received their full three-hour 360 video booth experience.

Joel, a proud member of the military, and Danielle, a dedicated teacher, were surrounded by guests who clearly meant the world to them, and that joy came through in every video created.
The only pause in the action came when everyone stepped outside to enjoy a spectacular firework display, lighting up the Cardiff sky and marking the beginning of the couple’s next chapter together. When guests returned to the marquee, the lights were low, drinks were flowing, and the party truly began, with the 360 video booth once again becoming the heart of the celebration.

Throughout the night, guests were able to receive their videos instantly. iPhone users had their clips Airdropped directly to their phones, while Android users simply scanned a QR code to download their videos straight away. This meant guests could relive their moments immediately and share them with friends and family.
We also displayed all videos on our iPad gallery stand, allowing guests to scroll through and watch everyone’s clips. It quickly became a talking point, with guests showing each other their videos and encouraging others to take part, keeping the booth busy right through the evening.
Winding Down a Perfect Wedding Day
We finished the night at 10:30pm, packing down quietly so as not to disturb the ongoing celebrations. As we left the venue and drove off into the night, it was clear we had been part of something truly special.
Danielle and Joel’s wedding was elegant, joyful, and full of warmth, and we thoroughly enjoyed providing their evening entertainment. It was a privilege to help capture such meaningful moments at the very start of their married life.
